Do you hunger for more of God? Do you want to know Him? Do you wish you knew Him better? Or, do you wish you were better connected to Him in some way?
We can get so caught up on wanting to experience God tangibly by feeling something or sensing something (warmth, euphoria, peace) that we overlook what the Bible says is clearly God at work in us.
First, it says no one can come to God unless the Father draws Him (John 6:65). That means God is already there working in you if you are stirred up to seek Him. So pursue Him. Go after Him. Run!
Second, no one turns from sin to Christ unless God works in them to do so (Matt. 11:27). If you see you are in sin. Thank God. If you desire to turn from that sin, praise God and commit to turn from God to the correct way, God's way, of living. Then walk in it by the grace He is already planning to supply. That is why He is showing you your sin and giving you power to turn to a new way (repentance).
Third, as we walk with Christ all truth we come to know is given by the Father through the Holy Spirit, we don't just figure it out through our normal, human faculties (though we do have to employ those) (Matt. 16:17; 1 Cor. 2:10-13). If you see a new truth and then it is confirmed in Scripture and those in the body confirm it as true in Scripture, praise God for opening your eyes to understand and see! No truth will lead you to a "new" truth that is not in Scripture, or a truth that allows you to sin or be lawless. Instead, it will free you to be a slave to Christ where you were once a slave to sin. It will free you from corruption and selfishness/idolatry to holiness and love. Praise God and walk in the newness of life it brings.
This pursuit of God will take work and many days you won't "feel" connected to God because it won't be an "euphoric" experience. It won't be a warm, fuzzy experience to be connected to God when you wake up. It will be a choice to get up an give your life to God and pursue Him. It is a hard thing many days, but #wedohardthings , so we wake up and #pursueGod because He is already at work in us #pursuingus #empoweringus to give us the strength we need to #pursueHim
And we can be sure that when we do walk in these things, its not because we sought Him that we found Him. It's because He came searching for us, seeking us and rescued us that we were found and then began seeking Him with the power He supplied.
I pray you have a blessed day and know God loves you and is working in you. He knows you. He formed you. You were fearfully and wonderfully made. You are His poem, His workmanship, created for His good works which YOU WILL walk in for HIS GLORY!
Now GO WALK IN THEM and BE BLESSED!
Your Brother in Christ,
Mike
